If you've read About Us, you already know the basics. So I'll pick up at the Detroit airport on July 3, 2014 when we first laid eyes on each other after a few decades. He was still as handsome as ever, tall, blue eyes, blondish-gray hair. He got out of the car and gave me a big hug. We threw my bag in the trunk and headed off to Brendel Lake. During the hour drive, we talked and held hands like teenagers, savoring every second of being together. Since we had already spent hours talking on the phone, this was the most relaxed "first date" either of us have ever experienced!
Our hosts were absolute angels, allowing us to kindle the flame that was building. We had a ton of fun. We ate and drank, and met lots of new people over the weekend. We even participated in the Fourth of July pontoon parade and watched fireworks exploding all around the lake that night!
This dock was our favorite location. We spent hours sitting in the Adirondack chairs, talking about our lives, our aspirations and the possibility of growing a beautiful relationship.

This is the yard, leading to the dock and the lake, with the pontoon boat at the end of the dock. Hidden behind the boat is the area where the above picture was taken.
